A tower maintenance technician’s primary responsibilities focus on the upkeep and safety of the tower structure and its immediate environment. Inspecting electrical components, clearing vegetation around the tower, and performing routine safety checks are all crucial duties to ensure that the tower remains operational and safe for both the equipment and personnel.

Conducting soil tests, however, falls outside the typical scope of a tower maintenance technician's responsibilities. Soil tests are generally related to engineering or environmental evaluations, often performed by specialized professionals to determine soil stability and suitability for construction or maintenance. While maintaining the physical components and immediate surroundings of the tower is essential, understanding the soil characteristics would typically not be within the purview of a technician focused on the operational aspects of the tower itself.
